Introducing Critical Role Foundation!
Critical Role
We are incredibly excited to announce the launch of Critical Role Foundation! CRF is our 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the mission of leaving the world better than we found it.
CRF partners with other non-profits on campaigns supporting causes that mean a lot to us. Additionally, 10% of every donation, across every campaign, goes toward an emergency relief fund giving CRF the ability to provide donations in the event of a natural disaster or other instance that requires immediate humanitarian aid.

Don't get me wrong, I love what Critical Role is doing here with their fame and dedicated audience, which includes me. I would like to better understand and see a little more transparency on the "Where Your Donation Goes" portion of the CRF page. LIke The United Way, CRF adds a layer of expense on top of whatever overhead each partner organization takes out of the pie. To be fully transparent, it would be good to show exactly how many pennies out of each dollar donated are spent on the cause and how much are spent on overhead at each stage. Early on, I stopped giving to United Way, and started giving more directly to local charities. However, this will no doubt bring in a much larger pool of donations to worthy causes. Great!

Can Anyone tell me where the music in this video is from? I used to listen to an hour long music video (Positiv fantasy music) on IT-my until the start of the Year when it got deleted. I listend to it when writing both games and books and have been searching for them but to no avail. The one playing here was in that video. Please if ANYONE knows where this song came from, please tell me.

  • AnkokuEvangeline

It may sound silly, but having a progress bar at that shows how much money has been donated to the project at hand, and maybe even an extra progress bar for the emergency fund, would get Critters even more involved. I for one would keep checking in for that satisfying feeling of seeing those bars progress, which would keep me in touch with what the current project is and how well we're doing.

So I checked out the link and I have a lot of problems with both the foundation and its description.

  • Rwoarrr

I am kind of confused so basically we are donating money to them and then they give that money to other charities? Super cool idea to be able to give to this charity then they turn around and maybe give it to communities or charities that are really in need, however this whole thing does seem weird.......... I do have a brain also.... I am probably making something into its not and am gonna look up more information on it!

I love the idea of an emergency reserve for when things unexpectedly go to shit, cos that seems to be happening a lot recently. I’m still a little behind on the campaign (like way behind), but I’ve loved every second of it so far, and I love what you guys have done for everyone from bringing joy to helping those in need

Super the hell out of this thought. Take it from someone who has done ALOT of door to door work. Actually using the taxe deductible, at least where I am (thats canada) gets a lot of people to help who wouldn't normally.

Uhhhhhhh..... Holup, and gimmie a sec here. First, I'm Canadian so I don't have a horse in this proverbial race. Queso. CR sits between the viewer and the charity. This costs 5%, another 10% of that dollar that I'd donate to the charity goes into an "emergency fund" and now instead of giving the charity in question a full dollar, it gets 0.85. Now, that charity, which probably has 10% operating costs, maybe higher, but let's just call it that, takes it's 10%, leaving us with 0.75 getting to the actual people. So. Essentially, what we're getting here is a middle man, for no rational business reason, that's sitting between the donator and a charity. The *only* thing they're doing is putting 10% into a slush fund. I'm sorry but at this point, this looks like tax evasion with more steps.

Okay so, bear with me, this might be long, but I swear, there's a point. I come from a "D&D is Satanic!" type family. Yeah. I know. Mostly my mom, as my father is a Medicine Man, but has kinda lost touch over the years and now leans more on the religious side. (For those who are wondering, the pandemic is fake, somehow this all relates to Hitler, and the rapture is coming VERY soon, so they're canning food for anyone who may find their secluded house when they're gone. I really wish I was making this up.) So, long story short, I never got into the game until my husband introduced me to Critical Role and the game itself a few years ago. I have always loved the cast and crew, and as a writer and actress myself (I make no delusions, I'm not great at either and do them for fun) I adore the rich storytelling and absolutely amazing acting of everyone. All around, truly, everyone is amazing, both in and out of the show. 💜 Now, if it hadn't been clear by stating what my father is, yes, I'm half Native. I've delighted in watching CR grow, even for the limited time I've been a fan. The amazing love and support both from the cast, crew and Critter alike is truly amazing. I had an adoptive mother who sadly passed, but being a Critter and watching all the love and support flowing like it does truly reminds me of her, and how she was my home. When Ashley announced the foundation, I was excited, but burst into tears when she said who was first. I can not express how much it means to me as a member of The First Nations to see people I know truly care with their very cores care about my people too. So all in all, thank you for making home, feel more like home. You are all so amazing, and I love you all, cast, crew and Critter alike. 💜💜💜

Pretty much... they do the work of finding good, effective charities that don't just waste your money for you, so you don't have to. (for the uninitiated, it can be harder than it sounds) The emergency fund thing is a good idea on their part, it means very rapid response to things
