Titanic Survivor Claims an Iceberg Didn't Destroy the Ship
Have you ever met a person who hasn’t ever heard the story of Titanic? Unlikely. Even if you ask a 10-year-old, they’ll tell you exactly what took down the gigantic ship. However, some survivors of the sinking legend would beg to differ. Here’s one of their stories, and it has nothing to do with an iceberg.
Armenian publicist Vaghinak Byurat was 25 years old in the spring of 1912. He described what happened on his journey to America on the most famous ship in the world in his memoirs. He’s never mentioned an iceberg hitting the Titanic, and always spoke about an explosion. And if what he said was true, something must have caused that huge explosion...
💥 Btw, guys, there is a cat hidden in this video. If you can spot our furry little guy, you're much more attentive than most people! Do you accept the challenge? 😽

- Armenian publicist Vaghinak Byurat was 25 years old in the spring of 1912. He described what happened on his journey to America on the most famous ship in the world in his memoirs.
- In 1912, Vaghinak published some books together with his father, a famous Armenian writer. His task was to take the books to America.
- They went to bed rather late on April 14, just like on the other nights. Shortly after midnight, something that sounded like a big explosion woke everyone up.
- None of the crew members wanted to say anything, but a few minutes later it was impossible to deny that the Titanic was going underwater.
- Vaghinak put his passport and money in a little bag and tied it around his neck. The Titanic’s bow was already underwater by that time. A lot of people in this situation wouldn’t have dared to take it to the open water.
- The water in the North Atlantic that night was just below freezing, at a scary 28 degrees Fahrenheit (-2 C). The young writer felt his arms and legs go numb, and he was understandably getting weaker and weaker every second.
- Then, he bumped into something. It was a lifeboat! But it was so overcrowded they pushed the young man with a paddle when he tried to stick to the boat.
- Vaghinak woke up alive on board another ship. That ship was the Carpathia, and it was en route to New York with lucky survivors on board.
- 12 days later, a woman came into the room. She turned out to be the person who saved Vaghinak. Missis Astor told the sailors that the young man was her son, and she wouldn’t let them go without him since she’d already lost her husband on the Titanic.
- Vaghinak lived a long and happy life and, as a great storyteller, he shared what happened to him many times. Interestingly, he’s never mentioned an iceberg hitting the Titanic, and always spoke about an explosion.
- It could have been a fire, and quite a lot of people actually believe that theory, saying that coal was burning in the ship’s hull.
- Another theory that explained the explosion claimed that there was a German U-boat involved in the sinking of Titanic.

One of the holds that stored coal was on fire when it left on its maiden voyage. The fire continued to burn during the voyage which weakened the metal causing the rivets to pop and the metal to fracture more easily upon hitting the iceberg. The watertight doors didn’t go any higher than E deck so the water rushing in spilled over the tops of the bulkheads and continued the length of the ship which caused it to sink.

There is a tale that before the Titanic left port her high pieces of art ,one possibly a Donatello, were taken off. A conspiracy of a planned insurance fraud that went horribly wrong has been advanced. The White Star line was in deep debt at the time due to the cost of making the Titanic. According to the story the Olympic was painted black and the name changed to Titanic in Belfast and the Titanic itself painted gray and changed to the Olympic. Crazy . Well a photo of the Titanic on the sea floor shows a patch of black paint pulled off and gray paint underneath. The rotors on the boat are the Titanic's but according to the story that was just due to the convenience of the parts at time of the changes. So

    • Dizzy

You don't commit insurance fraud using a heavily under insured vessel and White Star at the time were doing very nicely thank you. The light grey paint was the primer used on all vessels owned by White Star.

Before the titanic hit the iceberg I found out the black mark was fire and when the iceberg hit the iceberg hit the black mark

    • Thomas Fuller
      Thomas Fuller

That would mean the pool, postal holds, cargo holds, and various crew and passenger cabins were also on fire

    • Dizzy

The "black mark" is a shadow, or a mark on the negative. It could not be caused by fire, what is behind the marks position on the hull is the ship's post office.

  • Austin Veade

The titanic might have sunk because a whale hit the ball causing the Furness to explode with the flame in side with coal with a cause of a fire with the ship hard sunk from a hole from the fire and the whale also the ship might of bad bombs to make a big nose

german submarine would be my best theory.

    • Thomas Fuller
      Thomas Fuller

Tell me, what would the German gain from this? Did they do it for kicks? To watch British people die? Please tell me. Also at that time a U-boats top speed on the surface was 15 knots on the surface and 8 knots below, titanic was going 21, do you know how hard it is to hit something that is moving that fast? Ask the people who sunk the Lusitania, they only managed to hit be a miracle. Besides they hit Lusitania in broad daylight, Titanic sank at night, once more, can you hit something 10+ miles away when its pitch black and the ship isn’t lit up very well? Your theory is a joke, and is just flat out wrong

  • Monkeystar1912

I believe the documentary that they showed on tv, that there was a fire before they even set sail. Because of the fire and the cheap metal they used in place of the expensive metal. Because of bankruptcy, the metal weekend more with the fire. So maturely when the ship hit the iceberg, it ripped a hole in its side and sank. They called the ship many times in the documentary "the ship that was boomed before it even sailed"

    • Dizzy

The metal was not "cheap" and White Star were not in financial difficulty.
